Designed and built in-house, the robot fettling cell is now working on around 80 different components and has revolutionised work at Hall & Botterill Ltd of Leeds (UK). Such is the innovation that the company was recognised by its peers by winning the innovation Award for 2016 and achieving Highly Commended in the Company Achievement Award.
These prestigious awards are held every year and are awarded to UK foundry companies who can demonstrate a commitment to innovation, problem solving, risk taking, ambition and investment, so receiving both an award and to be short-listed is a huge accolade for everyone who works at Hall and Botterill.
The short-listing process for the Cast Metals Federation Awards began in October when we sent in our submission form which was then judged by an independent panel of judges before the results were announced at the Annual Awards Dinner which was held in Meriden, West Midlands on Thursday 17 November. Unfortunately we were unable to attend the ceremony itself and so Alex is due to be presented with the award in the very near future and once this has taken place, we’ll add some photos to the website.
We’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate the other award winners and nominees as it was a privilege to be considered alongside such a wide range of companies working in the UK foundry industries. Well done all!
